FASHION FORWARD CO-FOUNDER, SOCIOLOGIST & BRAND STRATEGIST

Sara graduated with an M.PS. in Branding from the School of Visual Arts in NYC. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. from the Humboldt Universitat-Berlin in Sociology, studying sustainability in luxury and fashion, while splitting her time between Europe and the United States. In tandem with her cutting edge research, she is co-founder of New York City-based think tank and consultancy Fashion Forward. She is an expert on the ways in which brands master storytelling and stay ahead of these societal cues and maintain a status of “luxury” in an ever-changing and ultimately less exclusive marketplace. She advises private and public organizations on strategic branding and development. Her clients include emerging and heritage companies, including Borghese, Nanushka, or Mejuri. She has contributed to leading industry publications such as Lean Luxe, Luxury Daily, or Fast Company.

Thomaï Serdari is ​Adjunct Professor of Marketing and Director of the Fashion & Luxury MBA at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University, USA. Serving as the Editor of Luxury: History, Culture, Consumption, she is an expert on luxury and actively studies, values, and reports on companies or funds that operate and invest within the luxury goods market. 

Thomaï teaches design at the Parsons School of Design The New School in New York City. She is a trained architect from Athens, Greece. She received her PhD at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University and her MBA at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University.

 

PARTNER AND CHIEF CREATIVE OFFICER AT MATTE PROJECTS

Matt Rowean is a Partner and Chief Creative Officer at MATTE Projects. Bringing over 15 years of experience, he oversees all creative services within the company, and develops visually appealing content and marketing campaigns for novel brands in the fashion, tech, music, and lifestyle space. He has worked on high-profile clients at MATTE including Chanel, YEEZY, Google, LVMH, Prada, Fendi, and Pernod Ricard. 

Prior to MATTE Projects, Matt was the Founder and Chief Creative Officer at RJW Collective now known as JWalk. He was previously the Creative Director at Strategic Group (now at Tao Group) where he worked with Noah Tepperberg to pioneer early experiential marketing tactics. At previous agencies, he has collaborated with the owners of CATCH/EMM Group and spearheaded the creative for clients such as Lacoste, Equinox, and Deleon Tequila. He is an contemporary artist and painter who focuses on abstract expressionism and has a studio in New York City.
